Helia Correia was born in Portugal and raised in Northern California. She obtained a bachelor of fine arts degree in film from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she was classically trained as an artist and filmmaker. There, she began to incorporate her love of storytelling and pop-surrealism into paintings. Helia has lived in Los Angeles, where she began a career producing documentary programs for television. She currently resides in New York City where she continues to cultivate her creative identity through various media.
